KICC 1st XI 164 All Out lost to ATTENBOROUGH 168-2
Newcomers surprise Kimberley
Attenborough, in their first ever season in the Premier League, claimed a notable scalp as they humbled former champions Kimberley by eight wickets on their own turf.
Mick Blatherwick opted to bat first, but by the fourth over had lost both of his openers - Dan Mason was run out for 4 and Jon Shaw caught for 2. Blatherwick himself (9) and Jon Terry (5) both fell before the 20th to leave the score on 45-4, but Samit Patel was still there on 22 not out. Patel then shared a fifth wicket stand of exactly 50 with Alex Heslop, before the latter was caught behind for 15. Just prior to Heslop's dismissal, Patel had moved to his first Kimberley half century of 2009, but with fellow Notts team mate Mark Footitt falling without troubling the scorers, Kimberley were struggling at 95-6. Twenty runs later, Patel's entertaining innings of 67 (5 fours, 3 sixes) came to an end and Kimberley were then indebted to Nigel Porter's club best 30 as they secured a second batting point shortly before being bowled out for 164. Alec McKinlay with 3-38 and Tom Murray with 3-32 were the main antagonists in Kimberley's under par effort.
Attenborough then came out to bat and belied their lowly position in the table, as they comfortably chased down the target for only their second win of the campaign. Jon Shaw did claim the wickets of Andy Simkiss for 16 and Murray for 49, but McKinlay wrapped up a perfect personal day by smashing ten fours and then ending the match in style by hitting Patel for six. Victory for the visitors was achieved in the 30th over, as the game ended just after quarter to six.
Kimberley remain in ninth place in the league, but Attenborough have now narrowed their deficit to 24 points. Farnsfield and Plumtree occupy the relegation places, whilst Clifton sit proudly at the top, aiming for their first Premier League crown.

KICC 4th XI 130-8 lost to RADCLIFFE ON TRENT 4th XI 133-3
Fourths slip into the relegation zone
Two clubs, both with similar development attitudes, contested this battle of the fourth XI's, with home side Radcliffe comimg out the victors.
Talented youngster Ben Barsby shared the opening batting duties with the experienced Andy Platts and it proved a successful combination as the pair put on 69 runs in 22 overs. Barsby was first to go for 24 and Platts looked set for his fifty, before being adjudged leg before one run short. Kimberley failed to capitalise on this useful foundation and the score slumped from 84-1 to 97-6. Andy's son Joe steadied the situation and ended unbeaten on 17 as Kimberley closed their 40 overs on 130-8.
Recent returnee to the club, Martyn Stackhouse, was playing for the fourth XI and gained useful match time as he picked up 3-15 from seven overs, leaving Radcliffe on 43-3. However, none of the other bowlers could contain Heath and Harbottle and both batsmen reached half centuries, as Radcliffe ran out easy winners with 11 overs to spare.
